The University of Exeter Medical School is excited to invite applications for our two new Mireille Gillings Professorial Fellowships in Health Innovation with very competitive salaries plus unique programme grants of up to 1 million pounds. These appointments and the generous programme grants will enable the successful candidates to focus on developing new research programmes in their chosen field, with a particular emphasis on candidates who can promote the leadership of women in translational science and business, and are able to lead entrepreneurial activity in their area of research. We are seeking to recruit talented researchers who are looking to establish themselves as future leaders in their respective fields and establish a tenured career at Exeter. We are particularly interested in individuals with research interests across: Neuro imaging, PET imaging, drug discovery, Public health, Diabetes, Primary care, Dementia and Genomics.
Tailored and personalised support will be provided for leadership and entrepreneurial activities across area such as Executive Education, Finance, Coaching and/or MBA studies, depending on individual requirements, with the aim of creating health leaders who can navigate the complexity of partnering medicine and money and steer society through the health challenges of the future.
Dr Mireille Gillings received an Honorary Degree from Exeter in recognition of her pioneering work and leadership in the biotech sector. The University of Exeter is honoured by the transformational support that Mireille and Dennis Gillings have given towards supporting research at the Medical School over the last few years.
We are seeking highly motivated and ambitious candidates with a successful track record of grant acquisition and high quality publications commensurate with an international reputation. Our Professorial Fellowships may be of particular interest to academics who are keen to launch their professorial career or at the early stages of developing their profile at professor level and have the aptitude to lead entrepreneurial activity. These appointments will have the full support of Exeter Medical School and the Dennis and Mireille Gillings Foundation.
