This full time post is available from 1^st September 2022 on a 12 month fixed-term.

The role

You will join our vibrant and friendly department and to support the delivery of our teaching in Roman literature and material culture, including some Latin language teaching.

The post will include the design, development and production of teaching and learning materials and the delivery of teaching in the area of Roman literature, material culture, and Latin language up to MA Level. It is likely to include the following modules: Latin II/III; Ancient Sources (Material Evidence): Brave New Rome of Augustus; Ancient Texts and their Interpretation.

About you

You will:

• Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in Roman literature, material culture, and Latin language, demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent to teach and support learning in Classics and Ancient History
• Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
• Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, facilitate outreach work, or build relationships for future activities
• Have evidence of excellent teaching in HE identified by peer review
