A Tennis Participation Support Officer is required by University of Exeter, based in Exeter. The post will involve helping develop tennis participation for the community as well as building links with schools, and supporting the on court delivery of some coaching sessions. This role is available from September 2018 until 30 August2019, and is part of the Graduate Business Partnership Scheme

The main purpose of this role is to increase tennis participation by developing links and networks to provide more opportunities for people. Within that, the appointee will also look to build positive links with Active Devon, local schools, and LTA. They will support the University with communications to customers, as well as help organise and develop key events and promotional opportunities to develop participation. This will role will also allow you develop your coaching skills and provide on court coaching for our customers.
Main duties and responsibilities shall include, leading on increasing tennis participation for all and linking with other departments within the University to develop communications and opportunities for staff/students to access tennis or the facilities. The appointee will also have the opportunity to support and organise school festivals, promotional days and events as well as oversee the running of holiday tennis camps. The appointee will also be expected to supervise, and at times, deliver on court coaching and be able to deal with any customer enquiries that may arise.
We are looking for an organised, reliable and energetic graduate, ideally in a sports related discipline, who is good at developing and building relationships. Applicants will need to have a minimum of LTA level 1 tennis assistant qualification, with a good understanding of tennis at all levels, and a genuine excitement in wanting to develop tennis participation.The ideal candidate will be adaptable, able to learn tasks quickly, with a flexibleand innovative approach to work. Applicants should have experience of working with children and of organising and promoting events, and professional and effective communication. You should alsoideally have a valid DBS.
