Summary of the role
The College of Medicine and Health wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to research exploring the health benefits of Nature Based Solutions through Horizon 2020 funded RECONECT and REGREEN projects. The projects are transdisciplinary and multi-sectoral partnerships of researchers, industrial partners and authorities or agencies focusing on the use of Nature Based Solutions across Europe and China. The post is available immediately for 44 months (c. 3.5 years).
This post will involve a variety of tasks including evidence mapping and synthesis, scoping and assessment of quantitative secondary data availability, application of value transfer methodologies, and qualitative enquiry (including photovoice). The post will also involve the preparation of application for ethical approval, writing of reports and papers and extensive collaboration with project partners. You will work closely with project investigators based at the European Centre for Environment and Human Health, which is part of the College of Medicine and Health, including Drs Ben Wheeler, Rebecca Lovell, Ruth Garside, Conny Guell and Tim Taylor.
About you
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or be nearing completion) or have equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. You will be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of evidence synthesis and of quantitative and qualitative methods so as to contribute to this interdisciplinary project. You will also be able to work collaboratively, have excellent organisational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail, and good verbal and written communications skills. Demonstrable knowledge of, including publications in, the domain of Nature Based Solutions and the linkages between environment and human health is desirable.
