Drama at Exeter offers a vibrant, creative and supportive community of over 20 staff, active in world-leading research and professional practice, and nearly 400 students. We teach an innovative suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (1^st in the Times Good University Guide 2022), in excellent purpose-built facilities. We are growing into a new interdisciplinary department of Communications, Drama, Film and Television this year.

The role

This dynamic post of Lecturer in Drama (Creative Producing) offers an exciting opportunity to design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in creative producing, live event project management and creative leadership, including onto the MA in Creativity: Innovation and Business Strategy. The post will also include enhancing industry stakeholder networks, widening placement and employment opportunities for students, and developing closer working with the cultural and creative industries. Working independently and with colleagues, the post will deliver innovative and established modules, supervise placements and dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate level, contribute to Drama’s strategy for a diverse and inclusive curriculum, contribute to assessment and quality assurance activities, and support students in their learning and professional development.

About you

You will:

• Possess sufficient breadth and depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD, MFA, or equivalent, in Drama, Theatre or Performance to develop innovative modules in creative producing and support creative leadership and learning across the curriculum
• Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
• Participate in and develop external networks, contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, and build relationships for future activities
• Evidence excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond your own teaching
• Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this
